Bird Watching

We just recently got a bird feeder and have been enjoying watching

and trying to identify some of our visitors!

This is a White-Breasted Nuthatch. It is a common bird in Illinois, especially to bird feeders.
These birds have the ability to hop headfirst down tree trunks, which helps them to see insects and eggs other birds miss. Interesting Fact: 'Nuthatch' comes from English moniker 'nuthack', referring to the bird wedging seeds into crevices and 'hacking' them open. What an awesome Creator we have that He took the time for such small, but awesome detail in each part of His creation!

Practice!

Tuesday when I was over at the farm and
I was getting ready to leave Kaleb got on his
coat and boots and said he was going with me.
It was so cute! Who could resist such cuteness?
Isaac then said he wanted to come too. So after
my Mom packed them some extra clothes we
headed to the campground to surprise Jamie!
He was SURPRISED! In the pic below Kaleb saw
I was taking pictures and Jamie wasn't looking at
the camera so he took Jamie's face and turned it toward
the camera:)

All three of them were having fun playing
computer games! Kaleb always had to pose for me:)
It was so funny!

Isaac and Kaleb then decided the loft looked like

a fort and would be a great place to play!

Jamie had to watch them to make sure they

didn't fall:) He also had a fun time......

In the morning they were excited to go outside

and play with the 'swords' they had found. Isaac

was pretending to kill the (wooden) bear!

Thank you Isaac and Kaleb (and Mom for letting them)

for coming over and spending time with us (and giving us

some practice:). We had a lot of fun!

Happy Birthday Christian!

I know this post is a little late, but oh well!
Happy (belated blog post) Birthday Christian!
Christian got to have two different kinds of pies
for his birthday. No fair! One was banana and the
other was Oreo. Yummm! They were both very delicious!

Jamie wanted to make Christian's gift from us
more memorable to open so he taped a REALLY hard
maze to the front of Christian's present and then on top of the hard
maze he taped a not really hard maze. So in order for Christian
to open his present he had to complete the mazes. It was
so funny to watch him complete the easy maze then he 'thought'
he would be able to open his present, but when he pealed off the
easy maze and saw the hard one he then said he wasn't going
to be able to open his present till his next birthday!

He did complete the maze and it was still on his 12th

birthday! It did take awhile though:)
