Logic Puzzler #1

Hey fellow Bloggerlanders~ Happy New Years! (Eve)

So since this weather is keeping everyone inside most of the time (except for tonight, party tonight! even though it is at our pastor's house. Anyone that knows our pastor and his family though would know, that they know how to have a fun time!). Anyway, I have decided to share with you some riddles from a book I got called "Uncle Johns Bathroom Puzzler:365 Logic Puzzles" throughout the winter to keep everyone occupied. I think we will try and post a riddle at least once a week and reveal the answer with the following week's riddle. Oh, and I thought we should have a symbolic mascot for these riddles so when you see the "smart thumb" its.....RIDDLE TIME!


Logic Puzzler #1.- RIDDLERS
1. What can travel around the world while staying in the same corner?
2. What has a mouth but can't chew?

Slip and Slide

This afternoon later after church some of us decided to
to take a walk. Because of all the rain and the sudden change
in temperature we ended up doing a lot more ice skating then walking:)





Joschi joined us. Isn't he cute?

It was funny watching everyone try to slide

all the way across the ice without slipping:)

Umm.. well, I think he needs to practice a little more:)

I don't know if Crystal thought she was figure skating....

I thought this was a cool looking picture.

We decided to then venture into the woods!

Becky carried our caution tape flag so

in cause any hunters were in the woods they

would be able to see us:)

We ended up hiking all the way to the creek.

The water was pretty high:)

There was a fallen tree that went all the way across

the creek and Becky and Reid were the first of the adventuress

ones to try to walk across to the other side. I would have closed my

eyes if only I wasn't taking pictures:)

I thank God for the beauty He made, but

best of all for good friends to enjoy it with.

"For unto us a child is born...."

For some reason I can't get any of my pictures to download right now so I was only able to download the video. I think the video is cuter then any of the pictures I was going to download anyway so this is fine with me. I hope everyone had a great Christmas! Jamie and I have started our own tradition for Christmas of waking up Christmas morning and having a special breakfast together then we go to my parents house. This Christmas before we went to my parents house we went to the nursing home in Amboy where I use to work and we visited with some of the people. It was such a blessing to see how happy it made the people. Every year we make either a cake or cupcakes to sing Happy Birthday to Jesus. It is so cute to see the excitement of Isaac and Kaleb (they really enjoy blowing out the candles). It is so important to keep our focus on the true meaning of what we celebrate during this beautiful season. The birth of Christ! What greater present to receive then God come down to us in the most vulnerable form of human flesh, a baby. The more times I read through the story of the birth of Christ the more amazed I am how awesome our God is and how great His love is for us. Well, I hope all had a great and blessed Christmas!

Willow

These are a few pictures of when we went to
Willow Creek this past Saturday for the Christmas
production. This year the production was called
'Light'. They didn't have a lot of performers like
they have had the past two years we have gone
with most of the people from our church, but they
did have a really cool message of being a 'light'
in our darkening world. The decorations were really
beautiful! I loved all the different stars they had hanging
up all around the church.

It is so hard to get a 'perfect' family picture,

but hey, what family is perfect?:)

Think Happy Warm Thoughts~

Hey Bloggerland~ I decided since I had some time to blog and haven't really done anything yet I wanted to try this thing out. So since I didn't have any updated pictures, I thought I would put pics up of places I would rather be right now (not that I don't enjoy this Illinois weather.....okay, I think it stinks a lot) So the first one is the completely white sand/clear watered beach of the island of CocoCay ( and my beautiful baby in the center). yeah isn't that awesome......
And I thought I would put this one up (check out those upper shoulders, impressive...well it used to be because that is when we were just married and so I had to be impressive and so now well, lets just say Jess is impressed on how well I can cover up my sixpack with my blub.) because I noticed the warm, bright, glowing sun hitting my skin and me enjoying it immensely because it was 85 degree weather and you didn't need to wear boots or jackets or scarfs or gloves and the moisture coming out of my mouth didn't instantly freeze to my face and my lungs didn't hurt when I breathed in. Happy winter times

Bella

Here is our new addition! Her name is Bella.
She is so sweet!


She has very unique coloring. When I first
showed these pictures to my family they thought
I had two different guinea pigs!

Decorations

I finally have time to sit and do some blogging.
It is a perfect day for staying indoors :)
Here is a short post of some pictures of our Christmas decorations.
The snowflakes I did not make. They were on our tree
last year and I really like them so I wanted to hang them up.



I had a hard time deciding where to hang them, but I finally
found the perfect spot in the doorway of our bedroom.

This is the wreath I made for our front door.

On top of our cupboard I put up some pine branches

and some Christmas bulbs.

I spray painted some branches silver and

then put a thin coat of sparkle on them. They look

really pretty in this glass vase with some pine needles. I

couldn't get a good picture though.

Walking Through The Wardrobe?

I have felt kinda left out with everyone's
blogs full of Christmas tree decorating pictures...
no I'm just joking:) well, it is true though that i
don't have any tree decorating pictures, because
we don't have room for a tree this year, but hey
a tree is not the reason we celebrate this season,
It is to celebrate the birth of our Savior!
I love to decorate though and there is plenty of
room for a few decorations:) I love to decorate
using the elements of nature, besides what better
decorations then the ones God made us?:) So yesterday
Jamie and I went on a walk through the woods to gather
our decorations. We went to the pine forest!



Walking through the tall trees all blanketed
with snow and so quiet besides an occasional bird
singing, it felt like being in a scene from Narnia!:)

I didn't get as many pictures as I

wanted to, because my batteries died

and i had forgotten to put an extra pair

in my camera case:( I will also have to post

some pictures of the decorations i made with

what we collected in the woods:)

~ Snow ~

It was still snowing as it was getting dark
outside. I thought it looked so beautiful, so
peaceful... I had to try and get some pictures!
The pictures can't really describe the beauty
and perfect quietness of watching the snow
fall so softly... each one different. It is hard to
believe that! I love the snow:)

God is truly the most divine and perfect artist!

It really makes you think how great He is, that even

in the smallest of creations He creates such beauty!

Cabin

We finally got our cabin moved! I got pictures
of the moving, but they were taken on Mark's
camera and I haven't gotten them off. Here is
where it was moved to. We have to build new steps
though, because the cabin was raised a bit ( for
putting insulation underneath). We are using a
picnic table in the meantime:)

I don't have many pictures, but to all who haven't

seen our cabin and have been wondering...

Living in the cabin has taught me many things that

we can sometimes take for grated in 'normal' living:)

I am thankful for all that God blesses us with in the

small simple things.

Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
I know that it is a little late, but I haven't
had time to do any blogging till now:) As they
say though 'better late then never' right?
The first Thanksgiving we went to was on Jamie's
Mom's side. They had it the weekend before Thanksgiving
in Wisconsin at a condo. It was a lot of fun!



They had it decorated nicely.

Jamie couldn't wait till we started eating:)

There was a lot of different kinds of foods

as well as the traditional Thanksgiving ones.

It was all very good!

Jamie and I relaxing before the meal. As you

can see in the background they also had a Christmas

tree already set up:)

After we ate we played different card games and

talked for the rest of the afternoon! We had a fun time!

In this picture with Jamie and I is Paul and Caitlyn (Jamie's

brother and sister-in-law), and Matt and Ashley (Ashley is

Jamie's cousin and Matt is her fiancee). Just for those who didn't

know:)

We went on Thanksgiving day to my Grandma's

house. My family was in Missouri so it was just my

Grandparents, my two aunts and their families, and

Jamie and I. We had a lot of fun!

The food was very good! These are three of my

cousins- Darcy, Jarred, and Dylan.

My cousin Ashlynn and I. My Aunt Dar is

in the background there.

After we ate most of us then went outside to

play a game. Darcy and Autumn.

We played a game kinda like tag, called 'turkey feather'.

You pair up in a team of two and each get a scarf that you

tuck in your pocket, but not all the way in. You have to leave

a good amount hanging out, because the object is the team that

can grab the most turkey feathers (scarfs) from the other teams

pockets is the winner. It was a lot of fun! and a good way to run

off some of that Thanksgiving food:)

After we were all pretty tired we went inside

for desert:) My aunt had made six pies! My cousins

thought instead of just eating the pie we should have a

pie eating contest!:) I did not join in on the fun. Someone

has to take pictures right?

They had alot of fun and I had fun

just watching and takeing pictures:)

We also went to Jamie's Dad's side on

Thanksgiving, but I didn't get to take any

pictures:( Oh well, it was a great Thanksgiving

and I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving

as well!
